Key Responsibilities of a Staff Revenue Accountant
- Analyze and review multi-element contracts for appropriate revenue recognition under US GAAP
- Prepare and review monthly revenue entries and reconcile related general ledger accounts
- Partner with technical accounting to evaluate non-standard contract terms under ASC 606
- Draft policies and document accounting treatment for evolving revenue issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Support external audit requests with documentation and reporting
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities within systems
Qualifications for Staff Revenue Accountant
We’re looking for a Staff Revenue Accountant with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–3 years of accounting experience with a focus on revenue recognition
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606
- Advanced Excel skills for managing complex spreadsheets
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred qualifications:
- CPA certification (or working towards it)
- Experience with Netsuite ERP
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter mindset with adaptability to fast-paced environments
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $91,000 annually (Colorado-based range)
