Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – ThoughtSpot

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at ThoughtSpot plays a key role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and reliability of ThoughtSpot’s cloud infrastructure while maintaining a strong customer-first approach. As part of the SRE team, you’ll handle service reliability and act as a trusted partner for customers by providing proactive solutions, clear communication, and continuous operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for customer-facing issues, providing timely, accurate updates and driving issues to resolution.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and diagnose issues across ThoughtSpot’s cloud environments to ensure service uptime.

  • Create and maintain knowledge-base articles to support customer self-service and internal knowledge sharing.

  • Monitor and maintain infrastructure using Grafana, Prometheus, and other observability tools.

  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to build tools that enhance system availability, scalability, and performance.

  • Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident reviews, and perform root cause analyses.

  • Develop automation tools and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency.

  • Apply NetOps and SecOps principles for both cloud and on-premise deployments.

  • Translate complex technical issues into clear communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • Proven expertise in Linux system troubleshooting and managing virtualization or cloud platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience using monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or Splunk.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking with deep understanding of system internals.

  • Prior experience in enterprise customer support, incident response, and on-call rotations.

  • Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (Python, Go, Java, or C/C++).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced environments.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • New York: $109,000–$179,000 per year

  • California: $120,000–$190,000 per year

  • Illinois: $97,000–$159,000 per year
