The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected operations; overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable; assisting in gathering narratives for annual operating budget; providing quality service for all internal and external clients, including management team and office staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Performs timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations for multiple companies
  • Documents and submits monthly, quarterly, and annual federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Provides weekly cash reporting updates
  • Works closely with department and cross-functional team members to ensure timely and accurate month-end close
  • Actively engages in the continuous improvement of the company’s accounting processes and use of Certinia system updates
  • Prepare monthly financial memos & cash flow statements for all PayTech companies
  • Prepare month-end and year-end closing process by established deadlines
  • Oversee client onboarding and billing process, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Manage accounts receivable aging and own the collections process regarding past due client balances
  • Review monthly gross profit and P&L variance analysis, and various audit reports
  • Input and track commissions and sales bonus, & PTMS bonus information and identify when bonuses are eligible for payout.
  • Oversees the expense report process, ensuring compliance with company policies, accuracy, and timely processing and reimbursement.
  • Annual renewal of business licenses with applicable states
  • Review & edit accounting entries and transactions for accuracy & proper documentation
  • Review & print checks for signatures and/or ACH batch entry
  • Perform all general ledger and bank reconciliations and perform cash matching
  • Assist with document review and gathering for corporate tax returns
  • Track budget variances on a monthly basis, reporting departmental information to department heads
  • Monitor and manage overdue receivables
  • Grow, manage, and train any and all accounting staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years accounting experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks and deliverables.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, internally and externally.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the job functions.
