About the Role:

This role serves as the primary point of contact and expert for local country business finance teams regarding all direct and indirect income tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review tax return workpapers and tax returns (UK and international), tax return-to-provision reconciliations, deferred tax analysis, and tax payable/receivable confirmations.
  • Review income tax journal entries and income tax account reconciliations.
  • Prepare, lead, and support the quarterly tax provision process, including analyzing changes in standards and international tax law (e.g., Pillar 2, CbCR), developing key metrics and analysis, communicating anticipated accounting results, utilizing IT solutions, and managing disclosures in quarterly SEC and IFRS filings.
  • Serve as the in-house expert on ASC 740 and IFRS, including discontinued operations, intercompany profit eliminations, valuation allowances, discrete/annualized effective tax rate analysis, and top-side adjustments.
  • Lead the translation of US GAAP to local statutory tax accounting treatment and Pillar 2’s QDMTT and IIR.
  • Lead training on tax provision software, SOX workpapers, and tax accounting processes.
  • Review indirect tax accounting implications.
  • Assist with, review, or lead special projects/efficiency initiatives, tax modeling, mergers and acquisitions, and tax research.

Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive tax experience in industry and/or similar roles.
  • Chartered Institute of Tax or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience using formulas, data organization, and referencing tools for large datasets.
  • Experience with Longview, OneSource, and/or SAP is beneficial; however, the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies is more important.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP and IFRS tax accounting principles.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical skills to identify inconsistencies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and complex environment, while leveraging technology.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members located in different countries.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Tax.
  • 10+ years of experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting, specializing in ASC 740.

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required.
