About the Role

GFT is seeking a Senior Technical Support Specialist to join our IT Services team. This role is fully remote (U.S. only) and offers the opportunity to provide expert-level technical support to end users while serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your teammates.

As part of GFT’s Shared Services team—covering HR, Legal, Accounting & Finance, IT Services, and Marketing—you will play a vital role in supporting global operations and enabling business transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality technical support for hardware, software, data, voice, and A/V systems.

  • Provide end-user support for Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office/365, and related applications.

  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and escalate when necessary.

  • Manage equipment setup, relocation, and break/fix requests.

  • Accurately document all tickets and resolutions in the service desk system.

  • Create and maintain IT documentation and knowledge base articles.

  • Support account management, inventory, and procurement systems.

  • Deliver effective communication and customer service to end users.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and occasional overnight travel to GFT offices.

  • Handle physical IT setup tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs., configuring workstations in tight spaces).

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in desktop support, end-user support, or IT service environments.

  • Expertise with Windows 10/11, Office 365, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tickets, and meet critical deadlines.

  • Experience handling a high volume of IT support transactions.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated decision-making ability in complex technical situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an AEC firm (Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management).

  • Knowledge of:

    • Mac OS X

    • Networking fundamentals

    • Microsoft SCCM, Intune, Active Directory, Exchange

    • OneDrive, M365 administration, and video conferencing tools

    • PowerShell scripting & ITIL processes

    • FreshService ticketing system

    • Engineering software (AutoCAD, BIM, MicroStation, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 (DOE and location)
