The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, one of the nation’s top 15 community foundations, seeks a strategic and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / SVP of Capacity to lead its financial strategy and operations. Managing over $1.5 billion in assets, the CFO will play a critical role in aligning financial and operational excellence with the Foundation’s mission of driving equity and shared prosperity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial strategy, planning, and reporting to ensure fiscal health and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee accounting, investments, IT, and operational systems to enhance donor and community experiences.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, Board, and leadership to align financial plans with strategic goals.
  • Manage risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements, ensuring financial integrity.
  • Drive innovation in financial operations, implementing technology solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance, accounting, and IT professionals.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 15+ years of senior financial leadership, preferably in the nonprofit or philanthropic sector.
  • Strong expertise in GAAP, fund accounting, budgeting, and investment management.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-billion-dollar portfolios and complex financial operations.
  • CPA required; Master’s in Accounting or Finance preferred.
