We are seeking an organized and energetic Content Strategist to join our Audience Growth & SEO team. This role reports to the Director of SEO and will collaborate closely with editors and contributors across multiple verticals. The Content Strategist will focus on creating, maintaining, and optimizing evergreen content that grows audience reach and enhances the reader experience.
This is a remote position (with the option to commute to the Jersey City office) and requires working Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
Responsibilities

Conduct competitive analysis to identify coverage gaps and new content opportunities.

Research trends to prioritize stories that meet readers’ needs during key moments of their journey.

Partner with editors to create and maintain an evergreen content calendar that anticipates seasonal trends.

Track and analyze Forbes’ presence across answer engine responses to identify structural improvements for increased citations.

Develop content briefs optimized for search performance and AI-driven discovery.

Produce bi-weekly and monthly reports highlighting traffic trends and areas of strong topical authority.

Train contributors on SEO best practices for evergreen content (titles, headlines, internal linking, meta descriptions, FAQs).

Audit and update existing content to ensure freshness, accuracy, and removal of performance issues (e.g., broken links).

Perform keyword research to align content briefs with SEO and editorial standards.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (technical/analytical field a plus).

2–3 years of SEO experience; publisher background is a plus.

Skilled in keyword research, trends analysis (Google Trends, etc.), and monitoring real-time news trends.

Strong understanding of Google’s news algorithm and ranking factors.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $95,000 – $110,000 annually (based on experience, education, skills, and location).
