We are seeking a Remote IT Help Desk Support Specialist to provide first-level support via phone and email. In this role, you will assist users, troubleshoot issues, and escalate incidents when necessary. Your goal will be to provide exceptional customer service while ensuring technical problems are resolved quickly and professionally. This is a part-time, fully remote role with a structured schedule.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inbound and outbound phone support to end users.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve first-level technical issues, escalating more complex problems appropriately.

  • Document and update support tickets accurately using leading questions to gather necessary information.

  • Communicate technical information in clear, non-technical terms for users and technical staff.

  • Assist with general IT inquiries, mobile device support, and Smart TV/streaming device troubleshooting.

  • Perform other duties as assigned while maintaining professionalism and customer sensitivity.


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate degree preferred).

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening, patience, and empathy.

  • Experience using service desk ticketing software.

  • Basic understanding of networking principles.

  • Proficiency with mobile devices (iPhone/Android), Smart TVs, streaming devices, and MS Office.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 2 years of technical writing experience.

  • Broad knowledge of IT products, services, and terminology.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information and follow strict security protocols.


Work Environment & Schedule

  • This is a 100% remote position requiring a quiet, dedicated home workspace with a high-speed wired Ethernet connection.

  • Part-time role, up to 28 hours per week:

    • Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays: 2:30 PM – 9:00 PM

    • Mondays and Tuesdays: 2:30 PM – 8:00 PM

    • Wednesdays and Thursdays off.

Security Clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain National Agency Check; Public Trust I.
