As a Payroll Auditor, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely contributions to the DGA’s Trust Agreements and Collective Bargaining Agreements from production companies. You’ll conduct thorough payroll audits, review reports from external audit firms, and prepare clear billing letters. Your ability to resolve billing disputes professionally and efficiently will be key, as will your support in the collection process and your contribution to verifying candidate authenticity. Staying organized, maintaining detailed records, and proactively identifying potential improvements will be essential to your success. You’ll also have the opportunity to educate stakeholders on plan requirements and address their specific needs. Some travel may be involved.
What you’ll do:
- Conduct timely and professional payroll audits of production companies to ensure compliance with DGA agreements.
- Review external audit reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare clear and accurate billing letters.
- Resolve billing discrepancies with companies and members in a respectful and timely manner.
- Assist the Collections Department with research on outstanding billings and maintain records of communication.
- Review candidate information for authenticity.
- Track the status of audits and ensure timely completion.
- Analyze audit reports to verify contributions, calculate interest and fees, and prepare final billings.
- Research information to support external auditors in their report preparation.
- Assist with billing follow-up, including documenting calls, resolving claims, and preparing necessary adjustments.
- Answer inquiries and educate auditees and participants on plan details.
- Identify and recommend process improvements.
- Travel occasionally (10-20%) and possess reliable transportation.
What you’ll need:
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally with an auditing background.
- Ability to interpret employment, financing, and licensing contracts.
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple audits simultaneously.
- Proficiency in ten-key by touch and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Understanding of production accounting and/or corporate accounts (general ledger, trial balance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll ledgers, journal entries, tax returns).
