Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and shipments at Keuka College. This includes ensuring timely and accurate delivery, providing high-quality customer service, coordinating with vendors, and supervising student staff who assist in the mailroom.
Essential Responsibilities

Receive, sort, process, and deliver mail/packages from carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, Amazon, freight).

Verify inbound shipments and report discrepancies to the Purchasing Department.

Serve as the main contact for freight shipments and coordinate large deliveries.

Load/unload trucks and coordinate returns or RMAs as directed.

Maintain mailroom software systems (Quadient, Notifii).

Train and supervise student staff during the school year.

Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and institutional policies.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 lbs.; frequent bending, standing, walking, and climbing.

Ability to climb stairs multiple times daily.

Prolonged computer work and desk sitting.

Some evenings and weekends required.
Minimum Qualifications
-
High School Diploma (required).

Mail operations experience (preferred).

Familiarity with mailing/shipping software (Quadient, Notifii, or similar).

Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

Effective verbal and written communication.

Ability to work under pressure and with diverse groups.
