The Opportunity

We are seeking a Site Manager (internally titled Housing Standards Team Leader) to lead the delivery of construction and repair services across our housing assets. This new role has been created during a period of transformation and will be critical in maintaining compliance, improving service delivery, and ensuring tenant safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a locality-based construction team, ensuring consistent performance and excellent customer service.

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations across housing repairs, planned works, and compliance activities.

  • Ensure all construction activities comply with CDM Regulations, health and safety policies, and Council standards.

  • Manage and update Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

  • Monitor performance metrics, drive quality improvements, and implement corrective actions when needed.

  • Support the delivery of housing repair programmes in line with Council strategic plans.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong understanding of social housing regulations including Decent Homes Standards and tenant safety requirements.

  • Demonstrable experience managing teams and leading site operations in housing construction or maintenance.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to balance operational priorities with strategic objectives and maintain a resident-focused approach.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.

Essential Qualifications & Certifications

  • NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

  • IOSH Certification

  • Black CSCS Card
