About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate and creative Social Media Coordinator to join Dingley’s Promise, a leading charity supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in the early years.

In this key role, you will be responsible for managing and growing our presence across social media platforms, helping us amplify our voice, engage communities, and drive awareness of our services, fundraising initiatives, and national campaigns.

Reporting to the Head of Communications and working closely with the wider communications team, you’ll develop engaging content, support colleagues across our centres, and deliver insight-driven campaigns that reflect the impact of our work.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Plan, schedule, and publish daily content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms

  • Maintain a social media calendar aligned with key communications and fundraising campaigns

  • Monitor and respond to messages, mentions, and comments across platforms

  • Support nursery settings in optimising their local Facebook pages

  • Ensure consistency in tone of voice, messaging, and visual identity

Content Creation

  • Design engaging graphics, short videos, reels, and other content using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite

  • Source and repurpose stories, testimonials, and data for compelling posts

  • Work with internal teams to surface meaningful stories from across the charity

  • Support coverage of key events alongside the Head of Communications

Internal Collaboration

  • Act as the go-to expert for social media guidance across operations teams

  • Provide informal training and advice to staff on social media best practices

  • Help staff develop confidence and visibility on social media platforms

  • Encourage brand consistency across regional and programme-level posts

Campaigns & Analytics

  • Support the planning and execution of campaigns for fundraising, awareness, and services

  • Use tools like Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or Hootsuite to track performance

  • Produce regular reports with key insights and data-driven recommendations

  • Test different content types and optimise based on engagement metrics

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing professional social media accounts (preferably within a charity, nonprofit, or public setting)

  • Excellent written communication and copywriting skills with a strong grasp of audience engagement

  • Experience with social media design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)

  • Familiarity with video editing tools and basic production

  • Proficiency in using social media scheduling and analytics tools

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines

  • Understanding of AI tools and applications in content or marketing

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of early years education or SEND

  • Experience working in a communications or marketing team

  • Familiarity with paid advertising on platforms like Facebook or Instagram

Working at Dingley’s Promise

  • Salary: £16,800 per year (21 hours per week / £28,000 FTE)

  • Contract Type: Part-time, Permanent

  • Location: Hybrid (home-based with regular travel to Reading and occasional visits nationwide)

  • Hours: 3 days/week, 9am–5pm (flexible on which days)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
