Position Summary

The Social Media Coordinator supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of social media strategies across the National University System. In this role, you will work closely with the organic social media team to execute campaigns, monitor engagement, and manage community responses across multiple platforms.

This is a hands-on, creative role requiring strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. You will help build content calendars, engage with audiences, respond to reviews, and create short-form video content that sparks community pride and strengthens National University’s digital presence.


Essential Functions

  • Monitor social media engagement; respond to comments, questions, and direct messages in a timely manner.

  • Monitor and respond to reviews on platforms such as TrustPilot, Glassdoor, Facebook, Google, and Yelp.

  • Create and execute social media content: scheduling, boosting, filming, and editing videos for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok.

  • Coordinate social media outreach and promotional SWAG.

  • Track KPIs and prepare performance reports.

  • Copywrite posts and community responses tailored to platform and audience.

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to support campaigns and resources.


Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 2+ years of professional social media experience preferred.

Competencies/Technical Skills

  • Proficient in managing content across platforms: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X, Threads, and Bluesky.

  • Strong knowledge of platform-specific content formats (artwork dimensions, file types, and engagement best practices).

  • Skilled in photo and video editing for social media.

  • Familiarity with scheduling/analytics tools: Falcon.io, Sprout Social, Hootsuite.

  • Knowledge of copyright, mass media, digital communications, and compliance regulations for public-facing content.

  • Bilingual ability preferred for inclusive, culturally responsive communication.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Knowledge of current social media trends, algorithms, and emerging platforms.

  • Ability to analyze metrics and translate insights into actionable recommendations.


Work Schedule & Travel

  • Hours: Includes some weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Travel: Up to 20% within the USA.
