Role Overview

As a Volunteer Social Media Manager, you will be the creative voice of AAL online, building connections and amplifying our mission through engaging content and digital community-building.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow AAL’s social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, and more.

  • Create compelling, mission-driven content (graphics, posts, reels, stories).

  • Develop, schedule, and publish content that highlights AAL programs, events, and campaigns.

  • Engage with followers, respond to comments/messages, and foster an active online community.

  • Collaborate with team members to execute campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and outreach efforts.

  • Track analytics, monitor performance, and refine content strategies.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and current trends.

  • Excellent written and visual communication skills.

  • Creativity, self-motivation, and attention to detail.

  • Passion for African heritage, cultural identity, and community empowerment.

  • Prior experience in content creation, digital marketing, or nonprofit communications (preferred, but not required).
