About the Role

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead and guide World of Warcraft’s global social presence. This role is pivotal in aligning internal teams around franchise-driven social campaigns, coordinating with external agencies, and ensuring brand consistency across all platforms.

You will partner with brand, product marketing, communications, and community teams to ensure social media strategies are executed with precision, creativity, and impact. This hybrid role allows for a mix of on-site collaboration in Irvine, CA, and remote work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global social media strategy for World of Warcraft across X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitch.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align brand, product, and campaign priorities.

  • Manage external vendors to ensure social programming reflects the WoW franchise voice and meets campaign timelines.

  • Serve as the central point of contact for social media, providing updates, deliverables, and context for execution.

  • Support content planning, campaign activations, and strategic real-time decisions.

  • Track major franchise moments and ensure internal-external alignment.

  • Maintain awareness of content calendars, milestones, and regional audience nuances.


Minimum Requirements

  • 10–12+ years of professional experience in social media, franchise marketing, or digital communications, ideally within gaming or entertainment.

  • Deep expertise in global social media strategy and community engagement.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and translate franchise goals into actionable social media plans.

  • Exceptional judgment, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working independently and managing multiple internal and external partners.

  • Passion for World of Warcraft and deep understanding of the franchise, its tone, universe, and community.

  • Experience partnering with creative agencies, vendors, and global marketing teams.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $87,480 – $161,910 annually (based on experience, performance, and location).
