CliquePrize® is seeking a Social Media & PR Intern (academic credit only, non-paid) to support our Los Angeles, CA, and Dallas, TX metro markets. Our iPhone mobile app helps local small businesses grow through interactive giveaways and promotions. This internship provides hands-on experience in content creation, community social listening, and public relations.

Note: Applicants must commit to 1 weekly meeting with the Social Media team and 2 hours/day during weekdays. Work at your own pace—no set hours. LA-based students will receive priority.


Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation

  • Develop content for your metro market across industries such as:

    • Beauty: Hair salons, nails, tanning, eyelashes

    • Health: MedSpas, dermatology, skincare, chiropractic

    • Retail: Bridal shops, furniture stores, other retail

    • Fitness: Gyms, yoga, Pilates, kickboxing

    • Home Improvement: Interior designers, real estate

    • Events: Party rentals, escape rooms, tourism

    • Learning: Karate, music, swim schools

    • Technicians: HVAC, automotive

    • Food: Bars, restaurants, food trucks

    • Pet Services: Kennels, veterinary clinics

    • Childcare & Family Services: Daycares, tutoring centers

    • Wellness & Alternative Health: Massage therapy, acupuncture, holistic centers

2. Public Relations (PR)

  • Write compelling media pitches highlighting how small businesses use giveaways instead of paid ads.

  • Pitch blogs, small business podcasts, local newspapers, and trade publications.

  • Track outreach results and report weekly.

  • Create short-form success stories with provided metrics.

  • Assist with press releases, LinkedIn posts, and email copy.

  • Develop PR strategies for blogs, podcasts, and press distribution.

3. Social Listening

  • Monitor online communities using TweetDeck, Facebook Groups, WhatsApp, Quora, NextDoor, Reddit, etc.

  • Engage with small business owners seeking solutions for growth and cash flow.

  • Identify new communities and respond to posts effectively.

4. Additional Responsibilities


Ideal Candidates

  • Students majoring in PR, Strategic Communications, Marketing, or Journalism

  • Strong written communication and headline creation skills

  • Organized with outreach and follow-up processes

  • Skilled in research and understanding audience or reporter needs

  • Comfortable using Google Sheets and Docs
