We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Digital and Tech department, reporting into our Software Engineering Team Leader. You’ll work with other Software Engineers, Product Managers, Solution Analysts and end users to problem solve and building software solutions, based on Simplyhealth’s product priorities.
In role, you’ll
- Engineer software to meet user needs
- Follow best practice guidelines and help to improve those guidelines
- Write clean, secure and well-tested code
- Operate the services you build and identify issues in production
- Confidently converse and input into squad and team ceremonies
- Have a personal impact on the goals set for the wider team, and build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders
About You
You will be a Software Engineer or Developer with:
- Proven experience in building software in a modern technology environment
- Proficiency in front end and back end JavaScript frameworks (JavaScript, TypeScript, React, NodeJS)
- Proficiency in development workflow and tooling (e.g. continuous integration/deployment, GitFlow, GitHub)
- Familiarity with modern software architecture principles and design patterns
- The initiative to contribute proactively with other engineering teams and business users, in order to solve problems and build solutions
- Familiarity with collaboration and delivery tools like Jira and Confluence
Our dream candidate might also have
- Current experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
- Familiarity with coaching and teaching other engineers
