About the Role

Are you ready to collaborate with technical teams to develop software solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies and improve customer experiences? As a Software Engineer III at Spectrum, you’ll design, develop, enhance, and implement scalable software systems that support both new and existing business initiatives while meeting technical and business requirements.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Design and implement new functionality that is testable, secure, and performant with limited oversight.

  • Apply object-oriented programming principles and computer science fundamentals to coding tasks.

  • Participate fully in Agile and Scrum rituals while adhering to SDLC best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with technology security, legal, and industry regulations.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and fix defects in software applications.

  • Create and execute test plans, maintain strong code coverage, and raise defects during code reviews.

  • Develop technical requirements and design documents.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical problems.

  • Provide accurate Level of Effort (LOE) estimates for projects and features.

  • Maintain technical documentation and respond to customer inquiries.


What You’ll Bring to Spectrum

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 1–3+ years of experience in database management, software development, testing, and design.

  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language/tool.

  • Knowledge of coding languages, syntax, functions, and object-oriented patterns.

  • Understanding of cloud-native app development, Docker, container runtimes, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Familiarity with APIs, clients, data stores, and dependent systems.

  • Knowledge of software design patterns and frameworks.

Abilities & Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently on projects of moderate scope.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review complex situations or data.

  • Effective multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management.

  • Clear technical communication and collaboration skills.

  • Basic negotiation and problem-solving skills.
