Pearson is seeking a Ruby Software Developer to join the PEACS Software team, supporting a high-volume e-recruitment Human Resources application. This role is ideal for developers passionate about building scalable back-end solutions, integrating front-end components, and working in a fast-paced Agile environment. You’ll contribute to all phases of the software development life cycle—from requirements and design to deployment.
Key Responsibilities – Ruby Software Developer:

Collaborate as part of a global Agile team to design, develop, and maintain web applications.

Write efficient, scalable, and secure code using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.

Develop front-end and back-end components, ensuring seamless integration.
-
Build and integrate internal and external APIs using REST, SOAP, OAuth, and other secure protocols.

Use tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, and AWS to manage development pipelines.

Test applications for performance, responsiveness, and security.

Handle large, dynamic data sets in high-volume environments.

Coordinate with team members working on different layers of the infrastructure.
Qualifications – Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or Math.

Expertise in object-oriented software engineering, especially with Ruby on Rails or Java.

Experience with Python or scripting languages.

Familiarity with RDBMS, especially MySQL.

Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Git, Docker, and AWS.

Strong analytical, adaptable, and creative problem-solving skills.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:

High-volume server-side application development.

Handling sensitive data and secure systems.

Microservice architectures and API integrations.

Advanced Ruby on Rails development.
