About the Job
Commerce is seeking a Software Engineer II – Infrastructure to join the Delivery Acceleration Team (DAT). This is a remote role for an experienced engineer who thrives on optimizing cloud development environments and empowering developers to work efficiently. You’ll manage and enhance Commerce’s Cloud Development Environment, maintain Ruby services that orchestrate infrastructure, and help build a new Golang CLI tool for developers.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain and improve Commerce’s Cloud Development Environment.

Support engineers by removing technical barriers and improving productivity.

Manage Ruby-based infrastructure orchestration services.

Develop a new Golang CLI tool for developer environment management.

Work with technologies like GCP, Nomad, Consul, Vault, Terraform, Packer, Puppet, and CircleCI.

Document processes and technical features.

Gather requirements, define roadmaps, and monitor tooling health.

Collaborate with global, distributed teams.
Who You Are
-
5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience with configuration management (Puppet, Chef, or Ansible).

Strong Linux administration and scripting skills (Ruby and Bash).

Proficiency in Ruby or Golang.

Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools and cloud technologies.

Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Proactive, adaptable, and results-driven mindset.
Compensation
Pay Range: $93,000 – $156,000 (depending on location, experience, and qualifications).
