 Role Overview

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our cross-functional product team (SAT – Stream-Aligned Team). You’ll work on impactful features such as Subscriptions, Engagement, Referrals, and Member Communications, owning the full development lifecycle. Your work will contribute directly to delivering secure, scalable financial services for our global customer base.

 Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services with a focus on performance, scalability, and security

• Take full ownership of your services from development to deployment, monitoring, and support

• Collaborate within cross-functional teams alongside product, design, QA, and engineering peers

• Advocate for and implement modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and observability

• Help shape Xapo’s architectural direction in a remote-first, mission-driven environment

 Our Tech Stack

• Languages: Python (Django, Flask), Node.js, Java

• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis

• Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, BigQuery

• Architecture: Microservices, Event-Driven, Domain-Driven Design

• Practices: CI/CD pipelines, contract-first APIs, automated unit and integration testing

 Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend software development

• Strong knowledge of Python and backend frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask)

• Experience with cloud-native patterns, microservices, and distributed systems

• Familiarity with CI/CD, observability tools, and containerized environments

• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a remote, asynchronous work culture

• A dedicated remote workspace and fast, reliable internet connection

• Based anywhere globally – preferably in compatible time zones like the US, UK, or Canada

 Bonus Points

• Experience in fintech, cryptocurrency, or Bitcoin infrastructure

• Prior work with event-driven architectures and domain-driven design

• Contributions to open-source projects or engineering communities
