About the Job

Leidos Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Software Engineer Intern in Huntsville, AL to support missile defense contracts through software development and integration tasks. This role may also involve additional areas such as modeling and simulation. Candidates will apply their existing knowledge while gaining new skills to solve complex problems and contribute to the development and delivery of software solutions for U.S. government clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and develop software solutions, document findings, and assist with software testing and integration.

  • Apply previously acquired skills to technical tasks.

  • Communicate effectively with engineers in an Agile Scrum environment regarding ongoing tasks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding and experience with C++, C#, Java, or Python object-oriented programming through coursework, lab projects, or previous internships.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and software version control systems.

  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.

$46,800.00 – $84,600.00
