Responsibilities
Assist the Chef De Cuisine with menu planning and execution, ensuring culinary excellence and consistency across all dishes. Oversee preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain high presentation and flavor standards. Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Manage daily kitchen operations, delegate tasks, and lead by example in customer service and work ethic. Monitor inventory levels, order food and supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation to reduce waste. Implement cost control measures in collaboration with the Chef De Cuisine, focusing on portion management and efficiency. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen in compliance with all sanitation and OSHA standards. Serve as the kitchen lead in the Chef De Cuisine’s absence, ensuring smooth operations.
Qualifications
Proven culinary management or Sous Chef experience in a high-volume or fine dining environment. Strong background in menu execution, staff training, and kitchen leadership. Excellent knowledge of food preparation, plating, and quality control standards. Experience with inventory management, cost control, and vendor coordination. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor a diverse kitchen team. Knowledge of health, sanitation, and food safety regulations. Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
