Role Overview
As a Sous Chef at Soho House, you will play a key role in guiding and supporting the kitchen team, ensuring that kitchen operations align with the vision set by the Executive Chef. You will oversee the planning, organization, and management of the kitchen in accordance with company policies and state standards. This includes recruiting and training new team members, adhering to allergy procedures, accommodating dietary restrictions, and collaborating with the Executive Chef to develop new menu options.
Main Duties

Lead by example, working alongside the Executive Chef to ensure the back-of-house (BOH) operations run smoothly, from food production to staffing and accommodating special requests or dietary restrictions.

Maintain health and safety standards as per Soho House, local, and regional regulations.

Build professional relationships within the team, fostering educational opportunities to develop skills and ensure adherence to safe work habits and processes.

Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently while maintaining the highest food quality standards.

Manage staff schedules, payroll, kitchen setup, food preparation, and ensure staff uniforms and discipline are maintained.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, or a Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree with at least 1 year of F&B supervisory experience preferred.

Culinary training with a passion for developing and growing as a chef.

Experience managing P&L, labor, purchasing, vendors, and quality control with a focus on achieving revenue targets.

Consistent work history with a desire to support the business as both a leader and individual contributor.

Must hold Food Serve Safe certification and be familiar with local sanitation regulations.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional email etiquette.

Experience in team training, leading production, and preparing large quantities of food while maintaining high food quality standards.

High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant trade school certification.
Physical Requirements

Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.

Must be able to stand for long periods, at least 8 hours.

Quick movement across various parts of the club as required.

Ability to move, pull, carry, or lift up to 40 pounds.

Occasionally required to kneel, bend, crouch, and climb.
