Main Duties

  • Lead by example, working closely with the Executive Chef to ensure efficient and exceptional dining experiences, managing the back-of-house (BOH) operations, staffing, food production, and accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions, while following allergy procedures.

  • Maintain health and safety standards in accordance with Soho House policies and local and regional government regulations.

  • Build professional relationships with the team, offering educational opportunities for skill development across various areas of the business.

  • Support the “Cook House” educational programs, training demos, field trips, and on-the-job staff development to ensure safe work practices and proper procedures, especially when dealing with unsafe situations.

  • Influence kitchen operations to enhance efficiency while maintaining the highest food quality and control for all dishes served.

  • Oversee staff schedules, payroll, kitchen setup and breakdown, food production, prep, and ensure staff adhere to uniform and discipline standards.

  • Foster teamwork and communication between the front and back of house, ensuring seamless service and smooth kitchen operations.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role or a Bachelor’s/Associate degree with 1 year of F&B Supervisory experience (preferred).

  • Culinary training with a passion and curiosity to grow professionally as a chef.

  • Experience managing P&L, labor costs, purchasing, vendor relations, and quality control to achieve revenue targets.

  • Proven stable work experience and the ability to support the business operationally as both an individual contributor and a leader.

  • Food Serve Safe certification and familiarity with local sanitation regulations.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in email etiquette.

  • Experience in training and leading teams, as well as producing large quantities of food with excellent knowledge of quality food operations.

  • High school diploma or equivalent trade school certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.

  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.

  • Ability to move quickly between areas of the club.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, or pull at least 40 pounds.

  • Occasionally required to kneel, bend, crouch, or climb.
