Job Overview
As a Trainee Shift Manager, you’ll take your first steps into restaurant management, learning how to lead teams, solve real-time problems, and ensure exceptional customer experiences in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
You’ll undergo a structured 4-month training programme, working alongside experienced managers to build leadership, operational, and training skills—preparing you to run a shift confidently and effectively.
What You’ll Do

Lead and support a team of 60+ crew members in a busy £multi-million McDonald’s restaurant

Ensure compliance with quality, productivity, and service standards

Use initiative to handle customer and crew issues professionally

Deliver personalised service by connecting with customers

Train and coach new and existing employees

Work across varied shifts, including evenings, overnights (if 24hr location), weekends, and holidays
Training Programme Breakdown

Month 1: Crew Member – Learn all front counter, kitchen, and dining operations

Month 2: Crew Trainer – Train colleagues and deliver constructive feedback

Months 3 & 4: Area Leader – Run kitchen or counter areas and supervise up to 17 staff

Post-Training: Promotion to Shift Manager with a pay rise to £13.75/hour
