TTHM (Teletownhall Meeting) produces live virtual forums with real-time Spanish interpretation. We connect government agencies, organizations, and public officials with audiences via engaging, accessible broadcasts.
We are seeking bilingual Spanish/English interpreters capable of performing live, simultaneous translation while managing chat communications and following scripted content—all in real time.
About the Role
As a Concurrent Live Interpreter, you will:

Listen to a live English broadcast via Zoom (on your computer headset)

Simultaneously deliver spoken Spanish interpretation using a phone and hands-free headset

Communicate with your co-interpreter and event staff through a web-based staff chat
-
Follow and adapt to scripted and unscripted content

Participate in 15-minute pre-event setup and sound check
Key Responsibilities

Deliver simultaneous interpretation while listening and responding to chat messages

Join all required platforms: Zoom (to listen), phone (to speak), and staff chat (to communicate)

Switch interpretation with your partner approximately every 15 minutes

Maintain clear, professional audio using hands-free or boom mic headset

Follow instructions and troubleshooting guidance provided in pre-event emails
Who Should Apply
You must:

Live in one of the approved hiring states: AR, AZ, CO, DC, FL, MT, NH, TX, VA, VT, WV
-
Be able to multitask under pressure: listening, interpreting, and chatting simultaneously

Have fluent Spanish and English language skills with strong communication abilities

Be comfortable using Zoom, web browsers, and live chat interfaces
-
Own or be willing to use dual-headset setup (Zoom on computer + phone for interpretation)

Be available for daytime or evening events (10 AM–3 PM or 4 PM–8 PM MT)

Provide reliable phone service and high-speed internet

Pass a background check (OIG Exclusions Database)

Sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement after completing training
Training & Support

You will receive equipment support and training on the Teletownhall Observer Platform

Events typically last 1 hour, plus 15 minutes of paid setup time
-
All interpreters are paired with a partner and supported by live event managers

Event invitations and access details are provided 2–3 days in advance
Schedule & Compensation

Pay: $125 per event (1 hour + 15-minute setup)

Flexible, on-call scheduling using the WhenIWork app
-
Events offered year-round, with peak demand from August to December
