About the Role
The Special Education Online Resource Teacher provides personalized instruction to students with disabilities in a virtual environment. Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and support staff to implement IEPs, integrate accommodations, and use digital tools to promote academic and social-emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Instruction

Deliver curriculum aligned with Common Core and IEPs.

Design differentiated lessons and assessments for diverse learners.

Modify instruction to support students’ unique needs.

Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on data.
Classroom Environment
-
Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and academically-focused virtual classroom.

Manage behavior, encourage engagement, and demonstrate cultural competency.
Professional Responsibilities
-
Maintain accurate IEP documentation.

Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, administrators, and families.

Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
Specialized Programs (examples)
-
Early Childhood (EC, EC SIP, EC STRAT): Literacy, math readiness, social-emotional development.

Multi-Age (MA): Instruction for ages 3–5 with developmental delays.

Integrated Kindergarten (IK): Co-teaching in kindergarten standards.

Comprehensive Life Skills (CLS) & Social Intervention Program (SIP): Cognitive, social, and behavioral support.

Strategies, Visually/Hearing Impaired, Orientation & Mobility, Adaptive PE, Home Hospital: Specialized instruction for diverse needs.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with student teaching experience.

Ability to obtain a Nevada teaching license.

Knowledge of child development, special education, and effective instructional strategies.

Skill in virtual teaching and data-based decision-making.

Based on Teacher’s Salary Schedule (adjustable annually).
