Role Overview
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing a caseload of students with special needs, providing Specialized Academic Instruction aligned to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and ensuring academic growth and overall student success. This role requires close collaboration with instructional staff, families, and the Special Education department to monitor progress and provide the necessary support.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver specialized academic instruction based on IEP goals and objectives.

Design engaging lessons and activities aligned to grade-level standards.

Monitor and support student progress in general education courses.

Use data tools to guide instruction, refine interventions, and adjust accommodations.

Assess student performance and update IEPs as needed.

Maintain accurate and compliant IEP records in accordance with state regulations.

Prepare and submit progress reports, records, and behavior reports.

Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and staff.

Communicate across departments to coordinate support for all students.

Perform non-instructional duties in line with school policies.

Commit to ongoing professional growth and innovative problem-solving.
Qualifications

Valid teaching credential with Special Education authorization (or equivalent certification).

Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.

Strong knowledge of IEP compliance, instructional strategies, and data-driven decision-making.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
