The Virtual Preparatory Academy of Missouri at Atlanta is a tuition-free online public school serving K–10 students across Missouri. At VPA Missouri, we empower students to reach their full potential by offering innovative, flexible, and personalized learning opportunities. We are seeking passionate Special Education Teachers who can create a rigorous and nurturing online classroom environment, support individualized learning, and prioritize students’ academic and social-emotional growth.
Responsibilities

Implement and manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Write IEPs and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local mandates.

Provide 1:1, small group, and whole-class instruction.

Participate in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
-
Collaborate with parents, teachers, psychologists, and related service providers.

Maintain accurate student records, lesson plans, and progress reports.
-
Prepare and administer standardized tests and assessments.
-
Lead and participate in IEP and student meetings.
-
Support co-teaching models and provide resources for classroom teachers.

Attend professional development and stay updated on compliance requirements.
Qualifications
-
Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum 3 years of teaching experience (2 years in special education required).

Current Missouri teaching certification/licensure in appropriate area.

Strong content knowledge in core subject areas.

Experience with MTSS and diverse student populations.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Proficiency with technology (Google Docs, MS Office, and student record systems).

Valid driver’s license with ability to travel in-state for events and testing.

Must pass federal, state, and local background checks.
