Oregon Connections Academy is seeking a Special Education Teacher to deliver specially designed instruction to K–12 students across Oregon. This remote role involves managing virtual instructional programs, developing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans, and ensuring students’ special education needs are met in compliance with federal and state regulations. The teacher will collaborate with school staff, parents, and related service providers to provide high-quality virtual instruction and student support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver virtual instruction and provide guidance for students requiring direct or indirect special education services.

  • Develop, write, implement, and monitor IEPs and 504 plans.

  • Track student progress, complete report cards, and conduct parent conferences.

  • Communicate regularly with the IEP team, including parents, learning coaches, and service providers.

  • Schedule and conduct IEP-related meetings virtually as needed.

  • Participate in the school’s Student Support Team and help implement program modifications and strategies.

  • Maintain accurate data in the school’s Learning Management System and special education software.

  • Assist with administering state testing and coordinating required accommodations.

  • Ensure compliance with all special education policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Special Education or related field.

  • Valid Oregon Special Education certificate.

  • Knowledge of IDEA policies and experience in special education administration.

  • Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, virtual instruction platforms).

  • Highly organized, punctual, and flexible.

  • Ability to work remotely and occasionally travel for school events.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range for Oregon-based hires: $40,000–$54,000.

  • Eligible new hires receive a $2,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment.
