About the Job

Under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher delivers high-quality services to students in kindergarten through grade 12. This role is dedicated to fostering team collaboration in the planning and execution of student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract, or district regulations

  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)

  • State Teacher Certification in one or more of the following areas (preferred):

    • Standard Elementary Teaching

    • Standard Secondary Teaching

    • Standard Special Teaching

  • Endorsement as a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)

  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)

  • Completion of a TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

  • Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulations)

  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
