Position Summary
Nevada Connections Academy (NCA) is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to provide virtual instruction and support to students in grades 9–12 across Nevada. Working from a home office, the teacher will manage a caseload of students with special needs, collaborate with parents and general educators, and ensure compliance with state and federal IEP regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Provide instructional guidance and virtual teaching for assigned students.

Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal laws.

Organize and lead IEP meetings in an online environment.

Conduct assessments, progress reports, and parent conferences.

Coordinate classroom accommodations and specially designed instruction with general education teachers.

Deliver direct services via web-conferencing tools when needed.

Maintain accurate student records in the school’s Learning Management System.

Participate in state testing and ensure necessary adaptations are provided.

Collaborate with the Student Support Team to develop effective learning strategies.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

Valid Nevada Special Education Generalist Certification.

Strong technology proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Customer-focused and adaptable to a fast-paced virtual setting.

Willingness to travel occasionally for state testing or events.

Ability to use a personal electronic device with two-step authentication.
