The El Dorado Hills Community Services District (EDHCSD) is recognized as a premier park, recreation, and community services organization dedicated to enhancing quality of life and protecting the environment. We are seeking a passionate and organized Special Events Coordinator to join our team and bring memorable community experiences to life.
Position Overview
The Special Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing District-hosted events, including concerts, park parties, and our popular Summer Fest. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build strong relationships with sponsors, vendors, and the community.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and implement community events in coordination with the Recreation Superintendent and Supervisors.

Oversee event logistics, including vendor management, entertainment booking, and set-up.

Evaluate events to ensure strong community engagement and efficient use of District resources.

Build and maintain partnerships with sponsors, businesses, and community organizations.

Secure sponsorship funds and coordinate sponsor promotions during events.

Prepare event reports, budgets, sponsor recognition, thank-you letters, and post-event surveys.

Provide on-site event management to ensure smooth execution and positive community experiences.

Support related administrative and promotional duties as needed.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; 60 units of college coursework in recreation, liberal studies, physical education, or related field preferred.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in special event coordination or recreation program support.

Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

Ability to work evenings and weekends to support scheduled events.
Licenses & Certifications

Valid California Class C Driver’s License.

CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire).
Schedule & Work Environment

Part-time position, up to 20 hours per week.

Evening and weekend availability required.

Must be able to meet the physical demands of event setup and onsite support.
