An exciting role has opened for a Specialist Public Health Dietitian to provide expert advice, training, and professional development to community-based staff. This position integrates into the national network of Public Health Dietitians in Wales, implementing and evaluating award-winning Nutrition Skills for Life™ programs within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
The successful candidate will work across Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf, requiring the ability to travel efficiently.

- Provide specialist dietetic expertise in training, quality assurance, and public health programs.
- Work autonomously, prioritizing caseloads and balancing service delivery demands.
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based group education and training sessions, including Agored Cymru Level 2 Community Food and Nutrition Skills qualifications.
- Design and implement effective behavior change strategies and community nutrition interventions.
- Adapt delivery methods to meet specific learner needs, including offering courses outside standard working hours.
Key Responsibilities of the Specialist Public Health Dietitian
Education & Training
- Deliver engaging, research-backed group education sessions with appropriate teaching aids.
- Lead training on behavior change and nutrition-related topics to diverse audiences.
- Support the planning and execution of Level 1 Nutrition Skills for Life™ programs and community initiatives.
Program Implementation & Community Engagement
- Promote nutritional health and well-being through tailored community initiatives.
- Apply motivational techniques to drive behavioral change and overcome barriers.
- Ensure the accuracy, evidence base, and quality assurance of all public health dietetic interventions.
Communication & Leadership
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to improve population health outcomes.
- Tailor nutrition messaging for diverse communities using culturally sensitive approaches.
- Demonstrate flexibility in information delivery to maximize audience understanding and retention.
