Overview of the Role
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Apprentice to join our West Kent Adult Speech and Language Therapy (ASLT) Team based in Tonbridge. This 36-month apprenticeship offers hands-on experience and training across various care settings, including community hospitals, clinics, care homes, and patients’ own homes.
You’ll work alongside a supportive team of over 20 SLTs and assistant practitioners with access to regular supervision and specialist advisors in key clinical areas such as dysphasia, dysphagia, dementia, dysfluency, voice, and motor speech disorders.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver assessments and interventions under supervision for adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.

Participate in internal and external clinical placements to broaden practical experience.

Contribute to high standards of patient care across different community settings.

Maintain accurate clinical records and work in line with Trust policies.
Requirements

Must meet all qualification criteria outlined in the person specification (certificates required upon application).

Ability to drive with access to a vehicle (unless exempt under the Equality Act).

Commitment to learning and delivering compassionate, excellent, and responsive care.

Must be eligible for a Band 4 Apprenticeship and willing to work across different learning environments.
