Overview
Aurora Organic Dairy is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage general accounting and month-end close processes for two manufacturing facilities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, supports plant operations, and partners closely with the Plant Controller for financial reviews and operational insights.
Key Responsibilities

Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and income statement analysis

Manage fixed asset accounting: depreciation, project tracking, asset disposals, and capital reporting

Reconcile physical inventory to general ledger balances

Complete balance sheet account reconciliations and post adjustments

Support internal and external audits with required documentation

Maintain and improve standard operating procedures and internal controls

Collaborate with departments to resolve plant-related financial issues

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Additional Responsibilities

Travel to plant locations as needed

Maintain strong understanding of cost accounting and AP processes

Use ERP systems for data entry, reconciliation, and troubleshooting

Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and plant personnel
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)

4+ years in a senior accounting role; manufacturing experience preferred

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas)

Experience with ERP systems; M3 experience a plus
