Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and banking policies related to the role.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and audit-specific regulations.
- Lead and/or assist in all phases of assigned audits, including conducting fieldwork independently or in collaboration with a Co-sourced Provider.
- Prepare clear and detailed audit work papers, documenting the procedures performed, test results, and any identified control exceptions.
- Provide regular status updates on assigned audits to management and the VP, Audit Manager.
- Submit comprehensive audit reports, including root cause analysis and recommendations for improved controls and efficiencies.
- Conduct follow-ups on audit findings, validating corrective action plans through transactional testing where applicable.
- Prioritize daily responsibilities and provide routine project status reports as required.
- Maintain audit independence and objectivity, adhering to internal auditing standards and professional ethics guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of internal audit experience within the financial services industry.
- Professional audit certification (CPA, CIA, CISA, etc.) is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and a general understanding of data analysis techniques.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage priorities efficiently.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Other Requirements
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Minimal travel as needed.
- Remote position based in California.
