What You Will Do
- Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of the Bank’s control environment, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies across retail branches, loan centers, and administrative departments.
- Analyze branch and departmental records to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Define audit scopes for assigned functions, assisting in the development of audit and analytical programs that address relevant risks and controls.
- Prepare comprehensive workpapers to document audit findings, ensuring compliance with industry standards while identifying control deficiencies, fraud risks, or non-compliance with regulations and policies.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic reports detailing specific bank activities, providing recommendations for policy and procedural improvements as needed.
- Support the Audit Manager and/or Audit Director in risk assessments and audit scheduling, contributing to the overall audit strategy.
- Conduct targeted investigative audits under managerial review to detect irregularities and strengthen fraud prevention controls.
- Present audit findings, internal control recommendations, and training sessions to various bank personnel and departments as needed.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field). Relevant banking or audit experience may be considered in place of formal education.
- 5+ years of experience in banking and/or auditing, with a strong preference for candidates with a blend of both disciplines. Experience in testing assurance functions may be considered in lieu of direct audit experience.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, accounting principles, and data analysis techniques.
- Proficient in computer applications, including spreadsheet preparation and banking software systems for generating management reports.
- Preferred certifications:
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
- Compliance Certifications (e.g., CRCM, CAMS)
- Risk Management Certifications (e.g., CRMA, CFIRS)
- Finance Certifications (e.g., CFSA)
- Ability to foster positive relationships with bank personnel, ensuring open communication between audit teams and other departments.
- Capable of working independently, effectively organizing tasks, and executing audits with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Able to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and fulfill reporting requirements while upholding high professional standards.
