DevOps Engineer – Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You Will Do:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and managing a high-performance, scalable, and secure Common SaaS Framework built on AWS infrastructure. This framework enables customers to seamlessly configure, provision, upgrade, and monitor various network functions within enterprise and telecom environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Optimize and manage cloud-based infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Deployment & Automation: Design, implement, and maintain DevOps pipelines, automating processes for efficient software delivery.
- System Observability: Monitor and enhance system performance, reliability, and security while proactively addressing potential issues.
- Automation & Tooling: Develop tools for automated production support, site reliability engineering (SRE), and monitoring of critical systems.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and resolutions to support knowledge transfer.
- Security & Compliance: Implement best practices for data protection, ensuring compliance with security regulations and industry standards.
- Collaboration & Development Support: Work closely with developers to configure and optimize infrastructure services supporting new feature development.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members while fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
What You Will Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 8+ years of hands-on DevOps experience in delivering builds, pipelines, and mission-critical infrastructure with a focus on availability, performance, and security.
- Cloud & Virtualization Expertise: Experience in cloud-native SaaS development and virtualization technologies such as AWS, ESXi, KVM, and HyperV is a plus.
- Distributed Systems & Microservices: Strong understanding of distributed system design, microservices architecture, and large-scale public cloud deployments.
- Containerization & Orchestration: In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in Terraform, CrossPlane, and similar tools.
- CI/CD & Version Control: Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, etc.) and version control systems like Git, Bitbucket.
- Observability & Monitoring: Familiarity with tools such as Kibana, Elastic Stack, Prometheus Stack for monitoring and logging.
- System Administration: Strong foundation in Linux operating systems and backend/frontend troubleshooting.
- Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, etc.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in agile environments, leading and participating in scrum ceremonies.
- Effective Communication: Strong written, verbal, and listening skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
