About the Role
Unit21 is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer who thrives on enhancing system stability, observability, and automation. In this role, you will help build and maintain the critical infrastructure that supports our fraud detection products, which safeguard our customers—and their customers—from financial threats. Because service reliability is directly tied to financial security, your attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence will have a meaningful and immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities

Deploy and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure to support core services.

Guide and collaborate with internal teams on infrastructure best practices.

Drive end-to-end execution of infrastructure and DevOps initiatives.

Review code and infrastructure changes via pull requests, both within and across teams.

Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve system efficiency and reduce operational overhead.

Collaborate on building and supporting data infrastructure and platform tools.

Develop, deploy, and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Requirements

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.

5+ years of programming experience with Python, Go, or Rust.

3+ years of experience working with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.

3+ years of hands-on experience managing and operating Kubernetes clusters.
-
1+ year of experience in FinOps or managing cloud cost efficiency.

Proven experience deploying large-scale applications across multiple environments.

Strong foundation in software engineering best practices: design patterns, version control, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and monitoring.

Self-starter mindset with intellectual curiosity, humility, and a bias for action.
Bonus Points

Experience managing mission-critical production systems with 99.99% uptime (or higher).

Familiarity with hosting and scaling Spark clusters.

Experience deploying and managing observability tools like Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $170,000 – $186,000 annually
(Excludes additional variable compensation such as equity, bonuses, or commissions.) -
