Essential Functions:

Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing configuration management patterns and infrastructure as code.

Develop and maintain comprehensive policies and technical documentation on best practices for all implemented system configurations, ensuring efficient planning and execution.

Conduct requirements analysis and design models for infrastructure and application flow.

Lead design meetings and collaborate with users to determine technical requirements.

Write technical specifications based on conceptual designs and business needs.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies for implementation, and suggest updates to existing hardware and operating system infrastructure, including patches, user configurations, file systems, and kernel parameters. Continuously simplify the environment while enhancing security and performance.

Analyze errors, failures, and bugs, identifying causes and optimizing automation pipelines to achieve desired outcomes.

Diagnose and resolve hardware-related server issues (e.g., failed disks, network cards, CPU, memory) and act as an escalation point for troubleshooting hardware and OS problems, recommending performance tuning.

Work with end users to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet their needs.

Proactively monitor the health of environments, addressing issues and improving performance.

Coach and mentor staff on team policies, procedures, use cases, and best practices.

Support and maintain existing products, while adding new features as needed.

Participate in change management processes for implementation of changes.

Support the company’s commitment to risk management and the protection of system and data integrity.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent certifications.
-
At least 7 years of related experience.
-
Proven experience in DevOps, software engineering, or related fields.
-
Ability to handle multiple projects with a solid understanding of software environments and network topologies.
-
Experience facilitating technical design sessions.
-
Minimum of 3 years of experience with modern application design patterns.
-
Strong understanding of iterative software development processes.
-
Proficiency with Linux administration, including command-line tools and script creation/editing.
-
Experience with one or more of the following tools: Chef, Ansible, Puppet.

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IAC), containerization, and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with security and encryption protocols.
-
Knowledge of at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
-
Availability to work different schedules as part of an on-call rotation.
-
Background and drug screen clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience architecting and building Hadoop clusters both on-premises and in the cloud, utilizing IAC principles.

Expertise in supporting No-SQL databases (e.g., HBase, Aerospike, SOLR, RedShift).

Implementing security measures for Hadoop, HBase, SOLR, and Kafka clusters to ensure PCI compliance.

Overseeing the administration of Big Data infrastructure, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.

Experience using IAC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to support data platforms.
Physical Requirements:

Work is performed primarily in a sedentary office environment, with extensive computer use and periods of sitting for up to four hours at a time.

Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching may be required.

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
