About the Role
The Leave of Absence Specialist manages complex leave and accommodation cases while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies. This role works closely with HR teams, managers, and employees to provide expert guidance, process requests accurately, and create strategic policies for leave management. The position also supports compliance audits, facilitates return-to-work procedures, and mentors junior team members when needed.
Key Responsibilities

Administer and process accommodations and various leave types, including medical, parental, disability, and personal.

Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and company policies.

Interpret and educate employees and managers on leave policies.

Stay up to date with evolving laws and regulations to mitigate organizational risk.

Partner with HR and supervisors on leave management and accommodations.

Coordinate return-to-work plans to support safe and timely transitions.

Apply sound judgment with limited supervision.

Support evolving business needs with flexibility.
Mentorship

Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members grow within their roles.

Experience & Education

Minimum 4 years of experience in leave of absence management or related field.

Degree in HR management or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
