Position Overview
As a key leader within Chamberlain Group’s data science organization, you will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, ensuring a shared commitment to achieving measurable outcomes. You will manage and mentor a team of highly technical data scientists while championing the development and execution of our advanced analytics strategy. This role is central to expanding the impact of data science across the organization—transforming data into insights that drive innovation, operational excellence, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities

Build trusted relationships with business leaders by deeply understanding their strategic priorities, initiatives, and KPIs—taking joint ownership of success outcomes.

Lead and develop a team of data scientists, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing coaching to build a high-performing analytics function.

Drive the development and execution of Chamberlain Group’s data science methodologies, best practices, and innovation roadmap.

Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership to align data science solutions with enterprise objectives.

Act as a thought leader and evangelist for data science, fostering its adoption and application across departments.

Educate and empower business users on the value of advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making.

Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to deploy models and drive measurable impact from data science solutions.

Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced analytics models, including predictive and prescriptive tools that enable smarter business decisions.

Identify and apply innovative analytical approaches to solve complex business challenges.

Manage external data science vendors and consultants as needed.

Ensure team and organizational compliance with health and safety standards.

Safeguard sensitive company information by adhering to confidentiality protocols.

Maintain technical expertise through continuous learning, participation in industry events, and engagement with professional communities.

Contribute to cross-functional projects and broader team initiatives as required.
Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science or a similar field, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing data scientists or analysts.
Preferred Qualifications

PhD in a relevant quantitative discipline.

Experience leading end-to-end data science initiatives within Agile project frameworks.

Background in data science or analytics consulting.
Skills & Competencies

Deep expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics, including forecasting, predictive modeling, clustering, and network analysis.

Proven ability to translate complex business problems into actionable analytics solutions that deliver real value.

Strong leadership, collaboration, and change management skills.

Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL, with advanced experience using cloud-based platforms (e.g., Azure) and data science tools such as Databricks.

Ability to manage and manipulate large-scale datasets and scale models in distributed compute environments.

Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $123,600 – $216,150 (actual compensation based on experience, skills, and other relevant factors)
