Role Overview
The University of Miami/UHealth Central Business Office is seeking a Senior Medical Biller to manage billing processes, maintain data quality, and support billing operations in a full-time capacity. This role involves verifying claims, reconciling payments, coordinating corrections, and assisting with staff training while ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities

Review and release all physician charges promptly from assigned work queues.

Verify encounters for accurate patient demographics, insurance information, place of service, referrals, claims, and managed care authorizations.

Run insurance eligibility checks and resolve registration issues.

Enter paper vouchers manually for missing charges.

Review and correct erroneous or rejected charges.

Distribute credits from patient payments as needed.

Assign charges to cases and phases; reconcile vouchers daily.

Maintain quality control, ensuring no charges are missed and all billing processes are followed.

Generate weekly reports on accounts and monitor contents.

Assist with training of new billing staff.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in medical billing.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Relevant education, certifications, or experience may be considered.
