About the Role

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an experienced F5 Network Engineer to design, operate, and maintain mission-critical network systems supporting the U.S. Navy. This role plays a key part in strengthening national defense through advanced F5 BIG-IP management, ensuring security, reliability, and high availability across complex infrastructures.

You’ll use your F5 expertise to manage SSL/TLS certificates, build and maintain F5 BIG-IP configurations, implement traffic control via iRules, and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to optimize performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain F5 BIG-IP solutions, including LTM and APM modules

  • Manage SSL/TLS certificates — generation, renewal, and troubleshooting

  • Develop and implement custom iRules for secure application access

  • Design APM Access Policies for CAC/PIV authentication and backend integrations

  • Perform version upgrades, security patching, and performance tuning

  • Troubleshoot complex network and application issues

  • Maintain documentation for configurations and operational procedures

  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams for seamless integration

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours F5 infrastructure support

Required Qualifications

  • Secret clearance (active)

  • HS diploma/GED and 7+ years of experience with F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM, ASM)

    • or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT and 5+ years of F5 experience

  • Security+ certification

  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into F5-based solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with LAN/WAN administration

  • Scripting skills (Python, TCL)

  • Knowledge of network incident response and lifecycle management

  • Strong troubleshooting and vendor coordination abilities

  • CCNP Enterprise Certification preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $77,500 – $176,000 (USD)
