Senior Product Manager 2 – Identifier Research, Operations, and Security (IROS) | ICANN

Job Summary

ICANN is seeking a Senior Product Manager 2 to drive the development, support, and launch of services within Identifier Research, Operations, and Security (IROS). This role bridges business users, development teams, and external partners to define requirements, manage workflows, and oversee service deployment. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless project execution, aligning cross-functional teams to enhance system efficiency and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage product roadmaps, driving technology upgrades and system enhancements.

  • Define features, gather complex business requirements, and document process flows, use cases, and integration points.

  • Lead product development from concept to launch, ensuring seamless operations and ongoing improvements.

  • Oversee steering committees, advisory groups, and cross-functional project teams (8-10 members).

  • Collaborate with Engineering, IT, and external vendors to implement and deploy products.

  • Translate business needs into prioritized roadmaps, backlog management, and user stories.

  • Conduct Agile/Scrum meetings, manage sprints, and oversee user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Provide platform administration, reporting, and continuous process improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product management experience in a related industry.

  • Strong understanding of DNS Security, DNS threats, abuse prevention, and the Registry-Registrar model.

  • Expertise in software development processes, including requirements gathering, testing, and change management.

  • Proven experience in Agile/Scrum methodology, business process design, and data modeling.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage global projects with a business-first approach to prioritization.

  • Certifications in Product Management, Scrum Master, or PMP preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; international experience is a plus.

  • Fluency in English required; additional languages preferred.

Working Conditions

  • 10% travel required, both domestic and international, often on short notice.

  • Comfortable working in a global environment with occasional non-standard business hours.

  • Ability to work in an office setting with some physical requirements (e.g., lifting up to 25 lbs).
