Our Payments Security Solutions Delivery Team ensures customer data is secure across all Amazon Payments products and services, enabling secure launches and innovation. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will lead efforts to detect, prevent, and respond to security threats, while automating and scaling security solutions. You’ll work closely with development teams, influence architecture, and champion customer trust.
Key Responsibilities

Partner with software and service teams to identify, prioritize, and mitigate threats throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Design and implement automated detection and prevention tools for vulnerabilities in cloud environments (especially serverless architectures).

Develop prototypes for static and dynamic security analysis.

Streamline and automate manual security processes to improve efficiency and scalability.

Provide security guidance and documentation used across Amazon Payments.

Advocate for security best practices and evangelize a security-first mindset across the organization.
Basic Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

5+ years in Security Engineering or related technical roles (e.g., Cloud Security, Application Security, Threat Hunting).

5+ years of security analysis experience in cloud services, with a focus on serverless and security services.

3+ years of programming experience in Python, Java, or C++ (object-oriented design).

2+ years contributing to architecture/design of cloud services.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Security, Computer Science, Networking, or related field, or 10+ years equivalent experience.

8+ years in security architecture, threat modeling, incident response, malware analysis, or threat intelligence.

In-depth knowledge of computing security issues, threat vectors, and AWS products/services.

Experience collaborating cross-functionally to develop security roadmaps and strategic plans.
