Position Overview
As a Senior Technical Writer, you will develop and enhance documentation and resources that support customers, engineers, and third-party vendors integrating with PAR Engagement. You’ll create user guides, developer documentation, API/SDK resources, support articles, training materials, and manage Q&A forums. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical writer who thrives in cross-functional collaboration and is passionate about building high-quality, impactful product documentation.
Key Responsibilities

Become an expert on PAR Engagement products.

Create conceptual, how-to, and reference topics for documentation and user assistance.

Maintain and publish help content on customer-facing portals.

Manage and moderate developer/user Q&A platforms (e.g., Stack Overflow).

Develop tutorials, samples, and training resources.

Collaborate with SMEs, UX designers, and developers to ensure accurate, accessible content.

Improve information architecture, workflows, and AI-driven documentation tools.

Identify documentation gaps and deliver solutions.

Contribute to internal and external knowledge communities.
Requirements

5–7 years of technical writing experience, including 1+ year focused on developer documentation (APIs, SDKs).

At least 1 successful developer portal project and a public portal available for review.

Strong knowledge of technical writing practices, information architecture, and content management.

Basic programming fundamentals.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Experience with: Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Salesforce, markdown, and docs-as-code methodologies.

Familiarity with Agile development and curriculum design.
Preferred Experience

Background in restaurant or retail POS systems.

Previous hands-on experience in hospitality, retail, or cashier roles.

Knowledge of B2B enterprise software and customer engagement systems.
