About the job
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and an ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts and financial records.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support audits by providing accurate financial documentation and responses.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax documents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with recycling or manufacturing industries is a plus.
